In an interview with ELLE, the pop star expressed, “This album is essential for my soul.”

Kesha’s upcoming music is set to aid her in “reclaiming” her “joy.”

In an exclusive interview with ELLE, the 37-year-old pop star shared insights about her new music following her nearly ten-year legal struggle with producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald. While reflecting on the “pain” she has faced in her life, Kesha explained how her forthcoming album will represent “joy.”

“Everyone knows me as a fun person, and my soul reflects that. My name means ‘innocent joy.’ But there’s only so much a person can endure before feeling completely broken,” she expressed.

Kesha added, “This album is essential for my soul. I need to reclaim my joy because I fought incredibly hard for it.”

After establishing her own label, Kesha Records, she shared her ambitions to transform the music industry over the next decade.

“The music industry should be really worried about me,” Kesha declared. “I’m ready to make significant changes and shake things up. I want to dismantle it piece by piece and illuminate every aspect. My hope is that my legacy ensures this never happens to anyone else again.”
