Jimmy Fallon Returns to The Voice with a Vocal Surprise!
Late-night host Jimmy Fallon makes a comeback on The Voice, showcasing not only his prankster side but also his impressive vocal talents. In an exclusive clip from Monday night’s episode, Fallon, 49, is seen in the audience in disguise, interrupting host Carson Daly with a question.
Sporting a gray beard and sunglasses, Fallon asks, “Is this the part of the show where you take questions from the audience? I have a couple of questions for everybody.”
Expressing his humor, he continues, “I wanted to know if the winner of this show gets to go on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon because that’s a quality program. He’s a good guy. I think that would just be great for the winner. It would be a treat for the winner if they could go to New York City.”
Continuing the surprise, Fallon follows up with another question, asking, “What time does Blake [Shelton] get here?”
Carson Daly responds, “Well, Blake hasn’t been on this season. Let’s ask his wife Gwen,” to which Gwen Stefani amusingly remarks, “Never, it looks like.”
Undeterred, Fallon decides to take center stage, standing up from the audience and walking onstage to deliver a performance of Tony Bennett’s “(I Left My Heart) in San Francisco.”
As Fallon sings, coaches John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire are seen smiling and cheering him on.
“I’m getting emotional,” says Legend, later adding, “You sound gorgeous!”
After hitting his final note, Fallon drops to the ground, prompting a standing ovation from the coaches.
The complete episode, titled “The Road to Playoffs,” is set to air on Monday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
In March, Fallon made a previous appearance on the show, orchestrating a prank on the judges by staging his own blind audition.
At the beginning of the video, host Carson Daly announced, “We have a surprise for our coaches. Right now, we have an artist preparing for the biggest performance of their entire life.”
Fallon then took the stage, delivering an impressive rendition of “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near).”
Coach Kelly Clarkson and Niall Horan were the first to turn around, bursting into laughter when they realized the identity of the singer. Next, Chance the Rapper turned around, emitting a shocked scream as Fallon danced across the stage.
Approaching the conclusion of the song with Blake Shelton still facing away, Fallon walked up to his chair and pressed the red button for him.
“You can’t do that! You know the rules,” protested Shelton, 47.
