Zara Larsson Suffers Hair Mishap as Extension Comes Loose During Concert Performance in Norway

By Website Content Manager

A concertgoer shared a video that quickly went viral, capturing the singer recovering smoothly after experiencing a costume mishap during her performance at the 2026 Neon Festival.

Zara Larsson once again showed her ability to stay composed when an unexpected mishap occurred during a live performance.

The 28-year-old Swedish pop star took the stage at the Neon Festival in Trondheim, Norway, on June 6, where a fan-recorded video captured her quick reaction after a hair extension came loose during the show.

The now-viral clip, later reshared by Capital, shows Larsson performing a choreographed hair flip before one of her extensions unexpectedly falls to the floor. Rather than letting the moment disrupt the performance, she casually picked up the hairpiece, playfully swung it around while dancing, and continued singing without missing a beat.

The incident is just the latest example of Larsson’s ability to handle onstage surprises with confidence.

Only weeks earlier, in May, she appeared on the Today show’s Summer Concert Series, performing songs including “Midnight Sun,” “Pretty Ugly,” and “Stateside.” During the viral dance routine for her hit “Lush Life,” which she performed alongside Today co-host Sheinelle Jones, the heel of one of her shoes suddenly broke off. Laughing it off, Larsson joked that they would simply have to dance even harder because she had lost her heel.

Not every unexpected moment has ended on such a positive note, however.

In an interview with The Guardian in April, Larsson revealed that she lost a brand partnership reportedly worth $3 million after making a joking comment on social media about abortion.

The controversy began when a TikTok user shared a video from one of her concerts and captioned it by saying they had not realized they were pregnant at the time, but were glad their baby had heard “Midnight Sun” before they later had an abortion.

Larsson responded humorously in the comments, writing that she “killed the performance” before the fan “killed it after the performance.”

Although the remark ultimately cost her one of the largest endorsement opportunities of her career, Larsson said she had no regrets. She declined to identify the company that withdrew the deal but hinted that she may eventually reveal its name, saying the time to share that story could come in the future.
