Selena Gomez feels privileged to play a meaningful role in a couple’s love story.
During a London event on Feb. 18 promoting I Said I Love You First, her collaborative album with fiancé Benny Blanco, Gomez met numerous fans—including a couple who had been together for two years. They shared how she influenced their relationship, prompting Gomez to express her hope for a wedding invite.
Daniel, one-half of the couple, later posted a TikTok video capturing their encounter with the Hands to Myself singer, along with a caption highlighting the moment’s significance.
“I came out to her five years ago,” Daniel wrote about Gomez, explaining that he met his partner “through stan Twitter” as fellow fans of hers. “Today marks our two-year anniversary, and this is the moment Selena Gomez said she wants an invite to our wedding.”
In the video, Daniel excitedly introduces the Rare Beauty founder to his boyfriend and shares the story of how they met.
“Oh my gosh, you guys. I feel so touched,” Gomez responded, placing a hand over her heart before playfully adding, “I better be invited to the wedding.”
The couple might discover their perfect wedding song in the latest album from Gomez and Blanco, which was announced last week alongside its lead single, “Scared of Loving You.”
During a recent discussion with Interview Magazine, the Good for You singer shared that collaborating with her fiancé on music felt natural, without any pressure.
“I think at first, I had a few nervous jitters,” Gomez admitted. “But over time, everything started coming together smoothly, thanks to dedication and love.”
She also shared with the outlet that the most rewarding aspect of collaborating with Blanco was “the fact that he listened to me.”
“Speaking up can be challenging for me at times,” Gomez admitted. “Right now, most of my anxiety comes from wanting him to take the lead because I believe he’s more talented than I am in this area.”
