In a recent interview, Selena Gomez reflected on her gratitude for her longtime friend’s musical guidance.
Taylor Swift was the first to express her love for Selena Gomez’s heartfelt track.
In a recent interview with iHeartRadio, Gomez opened up about sharing her 2019 hit Lose You to Love Me with Swift and her mother, Andrea, before its release.
“When I played her ‘Lose You to Love Me’ right before it came out, she and her amazing mom started to cry, and then I started crying. You know, it’s very sweet,” Gomez recalled.
The emotional self-love ballad later appeared on her 2020 album Rare.

Selena Gomez shared why she holds Taylor Swift’s opinion in such high regard, especially when it comes to her unreleased music.
“I value her opinion so much because she’s super honest,” Gomez explained. “It’s very helpful, and I love people who are honest.”
Gomez recently dropped a collaborative album with her fiancé, Benny Blanco, titled I Said I Love You First. Swift showed her support by posting about the album on her Instagram Stories, writing, “I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD.”
Gomez and Swift’s friendship dates back to the 2000s when both were newcomers in the music industry. The two first met during a memorable double date — Swift was dating Joe Jonas, while Gomez was seeing Nick Jonas at the time. Their bond has since grown stronger, becoming one of Hollywood’s most celebrated friendships.
