Kelly Clarkson Claps Back at Former Manager Who Suggested She Get a Boob Job

Kelly Clarkson won’t soon forget a moment from her career that left her both shocked and amused.

During her Studio Sessions residency show in Las Vegas on Nov. 8, the American Idol winner addressed a near wardrobe malfunction in her plunging jumpsuit and recounted an incident with a former manager who had suggested she get breast augmentation.

“I had some—let’s just say—manager once tell me to get a boob job,” Clarkson shared on stage. “I was like, ‘Why don’t you get a job?’ I’m fine with my itty-bitty titties. Get out of here. Driving your big car, making up for it… I don’t know. He was gross. Never been there.”

The 43-year-old singer added, “Who even says that?” before noting that industry professionals often normalize outrageous comments. “They say the craziest stuff. This is not normal—you’ve normalized crazy.”

Clarkson also joked about society’s obsession with cosmetic perfection, comparing it to the excessively dolled-up citizens of The Hunger Games’ Capitol. “Calm down. Just get old. Be grateful — not everyone gets to. Do you, but don’t make me do you,” she quipped.

This isn’t the first time Clarkson has confronted body-shaming. In 2020, she posted a powerful message on X (formerly Twitter) after Valerie Bertinelli called out a rude comment about her appearance. She wrote:

“True power is recognizing the projection of others’ negativity & punching it square in the face with all the positive, remarkable, intelligent, beautiful light that seeps from your pores. Pity people that speak ill of others because while some of us are dancing, the others are too afraid.”

Clarkson has also been open about her recent weight loss. In 2024, she revealed that she had used prescription medication to lose weight after her bloodwork showed concerning results — though she clarified she did not use the trendy drug Ozempic.

She told PEOPLE that lifestyle changes and dietary adjustments played a major role in her transformation. “I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple of years I didn’t. Ninety percent of the time, I stick to it because a protein-based diet works for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians!” she said.
