Halsey Marks One-Year Anniversary of Avan Jogia’s Proposal with Sweet Instagram Tribute
Halsey is honoring a special milestone in her relationship.
The 30-year-old singer took to Instagram to celebrate one year since her fiancé, Avan Jogia, proposed. Though she announced their engagement back in September 2024 by referring to Jogia, 33, as her “fiancé” on X, she now revealed that the proposal actually happened on May 26 of that year.
“Today marks one year since the magic worked and this insanely handsome man asked me to marry him. My heart can barely handle it 🧚🏼,” Halsey wrote in a caption for a reel shared on Sunday, May 26.
The video — a moody, romantic ad for her beauty brand, about-face — features Halsey and Jogia sporting shimmering pink eye makeup while sharing noodles, wandering through a grocery store, and getting cozy with passionate kisses. The clip is set to “It’s In My Head” by Provoker.
The two were first linked in September 2023 when they were seen out together in Los Angeles. A month later, Halsey appeared to confirm their romance by posting a carousel of photos with the Victorious alum on Instagram.
Avan Jogia Reflects on Creative Partnership with Halsey as She Recalls Romantic Barcelona Proposal
Back in February, Avan Jogia opened up about one of his favorite parts of being engaged to Halsey.
“One of the best parts of being with a fellow artist is the chance to create together,” he told PEOPLE. “There’s this ongoing exchange about each other’s work — offering support, collaborating, and contributing in meaningful ways. That’s something really special.”
Jogia, author of The Autopsy, added, “All I care about is the creative process. So when you find someone who truly connects with that, it’s definitely one of the great joys.”
That same month, Halsey appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she shared the story of Jogia’s proposal — which took place in Barcelona.
The singer, who co-parents 3-year-old son Ender with her former partner Alev Aydin, admitted she had a feeling the proposal might be coming. For their anniversary, Jogia whisked her away on a trip to Barcelona — though it included a surprise layover in Canada. She noted he kept the plans a secret, adding to the suspense.
Once they arrived in Spain, they opted for a boat ride, something Halsey said they both enjoy. The idea that Jogia might propose did occur to her, given the romantic setting, but since they were both “sun drunk” and simply soaking in the moment, she figured he wouldn’t go through with it right then.
