Halsey Laughs About the Time Miley Cyrus Left Her Party Carrying a Bag of Postmates While Police Arrived: “Got to Go, Girl”

Halsey also admitted she’s a lot like “Gatsby” when hosting parties, joking that she often disappears and hides out in her bedroom while guests continue celebrating.

Halsey is sharing a funny memory involving Miley Cyrus during one of her chaotic house parties.

Appearing on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast on May 26, Halsey — whose real name is Ashley Frangipane — recalled dealing with police officers who arrived to shut down a party at her home. The “Without Me” singer admitted she had been drinking when officers asked to speak with the homeowner, prompting her to step outside and argue that the gathering was operating within legal limits.

Halsey said she challenged the officers after they claimed she was violating the law, insisting the music volume, number of guests and parking situation all complied with regulations. According to her, the officers eventually responded that she was breaking “the law of common sense,” which she jokingly dismissed before walking away.

That’s when she spotted Cyrus making a quick exit from the party. Halsey laughed while recalling the moment, saying the “Flowers” singer ran out carrying a bag of Postmates and shouted, “Got to go, girl,” as police remained outside.

Elsewhere in the interview, Halsey compared herself to The Great Gatsby character Gatsby, explaining that she loves throwing parties but often hides in her bedroom while guests socialize. She joked that after everyone left, she would feel accomplished for having hosted successfully.

Halsey most recently released her 2024 album The Great Impersonator. In a previous interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, she also revealed that she currently feels unable to make another album.
