Megan Thee Stallion and Pardison Fontaine First Cross Paths During Collaboration on the ‘Savage’ Remix
Megan Thee Stallion and Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine initially collaborated on hit songs before their romantic involvement unfolded.
Their connection began while working on the “Savage” remix, featuring Beyoncé, a collaboration that contributed to Megan earning two out of her three Grammy Awards. The rapper officially confirmed her relationship with Fontaine during a February 2021 Instagram Live session, expressing her affection for him and dispelling the notion that “hot girls” couldn’t have boyfriends.
Despite this, breakup speculations arose in May 2023 when Megan attended a wedding with Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku. The release of her song “Cobra” in November 2023 hinted at alleged infidelity by Fontaine, though he later refuted those accusations.
Prior to their romantic involvement, Megan Thee Stallion and Fontaine enjoyed a fruitful professional partnership. On April 29, 2020, Megan dropped a remix of her chart-topping single “Savage,” featuring Beyoncé. Megan attributed the collaboration to manifestation, emphasizing the success of the remix. This release earned both Megan and Beyoncé Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song in 2021. Fontaine, credited under his real name Jorden Thorpe, contributed as a songwriter on the track.
On August 7, 2020, Megan Thee Stallion was featured on rapper Cardi B’s award-winning single “WAP.” The track garnered significant attention from fans and critics, particularly when the duo performed it on an oversized bed during the 63rd Grammy Awards.
Similar to the “Savage” remix, Fontaine received credit as a songwriter, collaborating with both his future romantic partner and one of his closest friends. Reflecting on his relationship with Cardi, Fontaine shared with PEOPLE, “Every time we work together, it’s amazing. I decided she was going to be my home girl. So, it was like a perfect match.”
In February 2021, the rapper known for “Hot Girl Summer” officially confirmed her relationship with Fontaine during an Instagram Live session.
Megan addressed the romance while defending Fontaine against negative comments circulating online. Expressing her disapproval of internet speculation, she stated on Instagram Live, “People don’t know what the hell they talking about, they just be saying anything. I didn’t like what they was trying to say about Pardi ’cause he is so calm and so sweet.”
“That’s my boo, and I really like him,” Megan continued. Responding to a viewer who called her a “simp,” she asserted, “I never said hot girls can’t have boyfriends … Y’all not about to play with my man. He don’t even be doing nothing to nobody. Yeah, he my boyfriend.”
