The music video also includes an appearance from Off Campus actor Josh Heuston.
Sombr delivers a memorable collaboration with his latest release.
On Thursday, June 25, the singer-songwriter debuted his new track “My Body Isn’t Ready” along with a cinematic music video starring Obsession actress Inde Navarrette.
Directed by Gus Black, the visual follows Sombr, whose real name is Shane Boose, as he arrives at a house party and crosses paths with Off Campus actor Josh Heuston. The scene then shifts to Navarrette relaxing by the pool, where the emotional track begins as she watches Sombr walk past her. The two eventually meet, but Sombr leaves her behind.
The song features vulnerable lyrics about insecurity and self-doubt, with Sombr singing about wanting someone while struggling to accept himself.
Later in the video, Sombr finds himself in an art studio, where he creates a papier-mâché suit around himself. Navarrette eventually helps him break free, leading into a romantic sequence where the two spend time together, including a walk, a dinner date, and watching fireworks.
The single, which Sombr wrote and co-produced himself, highlights his more personal side as he explores themes of body image, confidence, and accepting yourself.
After the release, Sombr shared behind-the-scenes photos from the video shoot on Instagram and thanked Navarrette and Heuston for being part of the project. He explained that he hoped the song would connect with listeners in different ways, describing it as both a metaphor and a reflection of his own experiences with self-image.
He also encouraged fans who may be struggling with similar feelings, reminding them that they are not alone and sharing a message of self-love.
Navarrette celebrated the release as well, thanking Sombr for including her in her first-ever music video. She praised the singer as wonderful to work with and expressed excitement for fans to hear the new song.
