
It’s time to celebrate summer with a HUGE party in the park and everyone’s favorite…FIREWORKS! Global One Media has partnered with the City of Clovis, the High Plains Community Development Corporation, and Plains Regional Medical Center to bring you the official return of Smoke on the Water!
July 4th, is going to be a full day of family fun at Greene Acres Park in Clovis and this year is promised to be HUGE!!
Schedule of Events:
11:00AM 3v3 Basketball Tournament by Carlos Leos: Free to enter with a can/box food donation to the United Way of Eastern New Mexico. **REGISTER BELOW**
– Age groups are 8-10, 10-12, 12-15, 15+ and can be registered in teams or individuals and we will place you in a team. There will be prizes.
2:00PM Skateboarding Contest by Carlos Leos: Free to enter with a can/box food donation to the United Way of Eastern New Mexico. **REGISTER BELOW**
– the competition will be Beg/Int/Adv: doing a Street style run for a times run, a vert (ramp) run for a timed challenge, a freestyle timed run and highest ollie/highest kickflip/highest 180 front or backside. There will be prizes.
1:00-4:00PM Freedom Car Show Register HERE (NOTE: Cars in the show will not be permitted to stay after show has finished)
-Free registration for cars, and free entry for patrons. Prizes for cars!
– During the car show, you can also register to play in our Rock Paper Scissors contest for a flight to Dallas and Disturbed concert tickets for 2!

Live music on the main stage, food vendors, give-aways, and of course the main event at 9pm will be the fireworks. Global One Media’s Big 1015 and Mix 107.5 will be broadcasting live from the park starting at 3:00PM. Then, BIG 1015 will have the official Smoke on the Water Soundtrack; a choreographed soundtrack for one of the largest fireworks displays in our region.
Some important information for this year’s Smoke On The Water:
- In Clovis, road closures will be as follows (Please do not use the closed streets for parking):
- On July 3rd, Main Street between 21st and Purdue will close at 12:00pm, reopening at 10:00pm on July 4th.
- On the 4th of July, the following roads will be closed from 6:00am to 10:00pm:
- Mitchell Street from Purdue to 21st Street – Purdue will be closed from Main to Mitchell – 21st from Main to Mitchell
- If you have the ability and are in close enough proximity to walk to Greene Acres, please do so. That will help with any traffic congestion.
- No weapons of any kind are permitted at Smoke On the Water.
- ABSOLUTELY NO PERSONAL FIREWORKS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES. Use of personal fireworks present a real hazard for the professional display.
- The area around the fireworks will be blocked off to ensure safety. This includes the field behind Marshall Middle school, and the parking lot in the vicinity. Police officials do note that fireworks will not shoot off unless all safety protocols are adhered to
Sk8 and 3v3 Tournament
If you live in Portales, the Roosevelt County fireworks display is scheduled to happen, per usual, on July 4th at 9pm. That display will be at the softball complex off of Industrial Drive in Portales.
