The singer and actress delighted her fans with a playful TikTok video on Thursday, where she humorously expressed her contentment with her current single status.

Selena Gomez is determined to make it clear that she’s still flying solo.
The 31-year-old singer and actress took to TikTok on Thursday, delivering her message about her single status in a playful manner. She did so while seated on a green couch, clad in an oversized long-sleeve tee with braided pigtails.
With a cheeky grin, the “Single Soon” songstress quipped, “Guess who has a boyfriend? Not me, y’all. Be safe out there,” while playfully waving to the camera, all set to the backdrop of Cyndi Lauper’s 1983 hit “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”
Gomez has recently been embracing the single life.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM Hits 1 LA with Tony Fly and Symon, the pop star and actress candidly discussed her enjoyment of living independently and shared insights about her upcoming music, which will be comprised entirely of uplifting tracks.
“I think everyone goes through that phase of wanting someone,” Gomez explained. “I understand that feeling. But right now, I’m relishing where I am, and I’m focused on finding happiness within myself. So, when the right person does come into my life, they can complement me rather than me being the insecure person I used to be.”
The “Only Murders in the Building” star disclosed that her latest single, “Single Soon,” revolves around anticipating the conclusion of a romantic relationship. She elaborated on the track’s meaning during the radio program, stating, “It’s essentially my way of conveying that it’s perfectly fine to be by yourself, and it can even be enjoyable.”
In the music video for the song, Gomez makes a playful reference to a viral TikTok she posted in June, where she’s seen sitting on a soccer field and enthusiastically announcing her single status to the players. However, she revealed to SiriusXM Hits 1 LA that her attempt at flirting didn’t quite yield the desired response: “They didn’t hear me, and they didn’t seem too interested, so I just thought, ‘Alright.'”
The “Single Soon” music video also portrays Gomez enjoying a night out with her single friends, which she explained closely mirrors her real-life girls’ nights out. She shared, “It truly is. It’s a lot of fun. I mean, you know, my friends will just decide to go somewhere spontaneously,” highlighting the spontaneous and enjoyable nature of these outings.
