“Examining the Synchronization of Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs NFL Schedule with Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Concert Dates in South America”
“Speculations Rise: Will Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Share Thanksgiving Amid Their Packed Schedules?
As the holiday season approaches on Nov. 23, fans are curious about the possibility of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce spending Thanksgiving together amidst their burgeoning romance. This potential celebration would mark a significant outing for the couple since the Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended Swift’s performance in Buenos Aires on Nov. 11 during the South American leg of her Eras Tour.
The Chiefs’ bye week provided Kelce with the opportunity to take a break from his NFL schedule and join Swift in Argentina. However, with the team resuming its second-half season activities, including practice and games, their schedules have become more demanding.
Swift, too, returned to her Eras Tour after a brief hiatus. Following her shows in Argentina, she was seen with musician Gracie Abrams at Freemans Restaurant in Manhattan on Nov. 13.
Donna Kelce, Travis Kelce’s mother, acknowledged the challenges of coordinating schedules, stating on Nov. 14, “There’s always a game. If it’s not Thanksgiving Day, it’s that weekend. It’s one of those things that’s just difficult. That is their career, that is their livelihood, and it’s not to be taken lightly.”
The following details provide a glimpse into Kelce and Swift’s upcoming schedules, shedding light on whether their breaks align for a Thanksgiving Day celebration.”
The Kansas City Chiefs have no game scheduled on Thanksgiving Day, granting Kelce the freedom to enjoy the festivities and catch other teams’ matches from the comfort of his couch. As per the Chiefs’ schedule, their last game before Thanksgiving is set for Nov. 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
This Monday showdown is highly anticipated, marking the first face-off between the two teams since the Chiefs secured the NFL championship title against the Eagles at the 2022 Super Bowl in February. Additionally, it promises another sighting of Donna Kelce in her split-team jacket, showing support for both her children as son Jason plays for the Eagles.
With the South American leg of Swift’s Eras Tour in full swing, the pop superstar has been immersed in a hectic schedule since its commencement in Argentina on Thursday, Nov. 9, featuring three consecutive shows (the second of which was attended by Kelce, who flew to Argentina to witness her performance).
Amidst sweet moments and gestures shared between the Grammy winner and her boyfriend during the Argentine shows, including Swift altering the lyrics to her song “Karma” and a post-show kiss exchange, the NFL star has since returned to work and hasn’t been able to attend subsequent concerts.
Following Swift’s performances in Argentina, she briefly returned to N.Y.C. before heading to Brazil to resume her South American leg of the Eras Tour on Friday, Nov. 17. Initially scheduled for three consecutive concerts at Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro, Swift had to adjust her tour itinerary due to “extreme temperatures in Rio.”
Swift announced the schedule change on Instagram, postponing the Saturday, Nov. 18 show. Although the new date wasn’t specified initially, event organizer Time for Fun later confirmed that the show was rescheduled to Monday, Nov. 20, with all tickets for the Saturday performance remaining valid for the new date. Consequently, Swift won’t be in the stands in Kansas City on Monday.
Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ home game on Monday, Nov. 20, against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce’s team has a gap until their next game on Sunday, Nov. 26, against the Las Vegas Raiders. While Kelce doesn’t have an immediate game after Thanksgiving Day, he is committed to practice sessions throughout the week.
Donna Kelce, Travis’ mother, shared with PEOPLE that due to her sons’ NFL schedules, she has not had the opportunity to be in her own home cooking for Christmas or holidays since they started their collegiate and professional careers. This year, they won’t all be able to gather during the holidays because of the practice obligations. Donna explained, “We have been together when they’ve had the bye week like that … But this year, you have to practice every single day because you’ve got another game coming up on Sunday … So this week and next week, they’ll be practicing from Tuesday through Saturday. It’s just the way it goes.”
Similar to Travis, Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles will have their first post-Thanksgiving game on Sunday, Nov. 26.
Swift’s performance on Monday, Nov. 20, is her final concert before Thanksgiving. However, immediately following the holiday, she continues her tour on Friday, Nov. 24, where she is scheduled to perform three consecutive nights in São Paulo, Brazil.
Donna Kelce has planned to celebrate Thanksgiving in Philadelphia, where she shared with PEOPLE on Nov. 14 that there’s typically a game either on Thanksgiving Day or during the weekend. Explaining the dilemma, she stated, “So I just go to whoever’s home, and if both of them are home, I have to just decide in April which games I’m going to go to and which games I’m not.”
Acknowledging the challenges of their sons playing on Christmas Day this year, Donna emphasized the dedication required in supporting their careers. She expressed, “But it’s one of those things that’s just difficult. That is their career, that is their livelihood, and it’s not to be taken lightly… there’s a lot of kids and other players on the team that need you, and you support the team. That’s just the way it works.”
Earlier in November, Donna mentioned uncertainty about Travis’ plans but confirmed her presence in Philly for Jason’s game on the Sunday following Thanksgiving.
The Kelce family’s holiday traditions have deviated from the norm since Travis and Jason played for the University of Cincinnati. Donna highlighted the constant travel involved, stating, “Ever since they were in college, we’ve always been on the road. It’s just the life of being a mom for the NFL. It’s always work, so you have to kind of go where they are.”
On Wednesday, Travis Kelce himself confirmed that he would be spending Thanksgiving on his own, humorously noting, “I’ll be feasting on KFC because I won’t have anybody here.”
