Usher Delights Janelle Monáe at Las Vegas Concert with Champagne and Dance: ‘Blushing in Vegas’

By Website Content Manager

The vocalist performed “Superstar” and “There Goes My Baby” for the actress of ‘Glass Onion.’

Usher and Janelle Monáe turned up the heat in Sin City!

The duo showcased sizzling chemistry on Wednesday night as Usher serenaded the actress and singer during his Las Vegas residency.

Monáe, 37, captured the intimate onstage moment in a series of videos shared on Instagram, praising the “incredible show” at Dolby Live at the Park MGM.

“we bl(ush)ed in vegas💋 🖤 thank you @usher🖤1 of 1. incredible show,” she wrote.

In the videos, Monáe sits in the audience, leaning against a railing as Usher croons “Superstar.” Upon seeking permission for a dance, Monáe graciously accepts, and the two engage in a slow dance.

“I promise you, that was a moment to remember,” he tells her, and they exchange flirtatious banter, maintaining intense eye contact.

At a particular moment, Usher, 45, gracefully twirls the Glass Onion actress, and they share an up-close and personal dance before she reclines against the railing. “You’re so sassy,” he playfully remarks.

Usher, scheduled to headline the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show in February, then serenades with “There Goes My Baby,” prompting another round of dancing. Monáe takes charge, pouring glasses of champagne for both of them and singing a line of the song into his microphone.

While Usher has a history of serenading stars during his residency shows (with figures like Keke Palmer and Issa Rae having experienced similar treatment in recent months), fans on Instagram were quick to acknowledge the palpable chemistry with Monáe.

“🫣 Should we be watching?? This looks like grown folks’ business 👀,” one user humorously remarked, while another confessed to having “never blushed so hard 😍😍.”

Monáe later shared a series of Instagram Stories, capturing moments of them enjoying the remainder of the show from her seat. They sang along with friends to Usher hits like “U Got It Bad,” “Burn,” and “Yeah!”

Despite the evident on-stage chemistry, Usher remains devoted to his long-time girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, a record executive with whom he has been romantically linked since 2019.

Speaking to PEOPLE earlier this month, Usher expressed his admiration for Goicoechea, highlighting their strong partnership. “I have an amazing partner, a support system,” he shared. “We have an amazing dynamic between our relationship where I’m able to be passionate still about what I do and have an incredible partner to work through some of the harder times as a young man dealing with children and dealing with the dynamic of how you communicate with them.”

“I’m very happy, very fortunate to have an incredible friend, not just a partner,” he emphasized. “She’s my best friend, and I love her.”

Usher launched his Las Vegas residency in July, sharing with GQ earlier this year that his show was designed with a focus on catering to women.

“I really wanted to create an experience for women, something they could anticipate, a reason to come to Las Vegas with their friends,” he explained. “They’ve been saving up all year, finding a way to escape from their responsibilities or problems, even if just for a moment.”
