Swift donated to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville as well as the Kansas City nonprofit Operation Breakthrough.
This holiday season, Taylor Swift has been focused on giving back. The 36-year-old pop icon has donated to multiple charitable organizations over the past month, with her most recent contributions aimed at helping children in need. Her generosity included gifts to Nashville’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and the Kansas City nonprofit Operation Breakthrough.
Vanderbilt University Medical Center announced Swift’s donation on Tuesday, Dec. 30, sharing that her support benefited both the children’s hospital and its Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program. Juan C. Salazar, MD, MPH — chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt Health and pediatrician-in-chief for Monroe Carell — expressed appreciation for Swift’s involvement, calling her a meaningful partner in the hospital’s mission to improve the health and well-being of children and families.
Salazar noted that the timing of the donations was especially impactful during the holidays, a period when hospital stays can be particularly challenging. He also pointed out the growing number of patients and families seeking care, emphasizing that contributions like Swift’s provide critical support for both staff and those they serve.
The hospital also highlighted Swift’s gift to the AYA Cancer Program in a separate statement. Debra Friedman, MD, MS, director of the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Monroe Carell, said the donation would help advance personalized cancer care for adolescent and young adult patients, allowing teams to better address the unique needs of that population and improve treatment outcomes.
On the same day, Operation Breakthrough — an organization dedicated to supporting children from low-income families through education, advocacy, and emergency assistance — acknowledged Swift’s donation in an Instagram post. The nonprofit thanked the singer for her generosity and praised her support of creativity, learning, and opportunity for its more than 750 students.
Swift’s holiday giving has extended beyond these two organizations. Throughout December, she has also donated to Feeding America, the American Heart Association, MusiCares, the CMA Foundation, and ACM Lifting Lives.
In addition to her charitable efforts, the “Karma” singer spent Christmas Day in Kansas City cheering on her fiancé Travis Kelce and the Chiefs during the team’s final home game of the season at Arrowhead Stadium. While there, she reportedly tipped stadium employees generously, including one worker who shared online that she received $600 from Swift.
