On Tuesday, July 9, the pop star unveiled both an acoustic rendition and a Cults remix of her track “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Taylor Swift continues to surprise fans with new renditions of her hit “Fortnight.” On July 9, the 34-year-old pop sensation unveiled an acoustic version of her track “The Tortured Poets Department,” featuring a collaboration with Post Malone. This stripped-down rendition swaps out the original’s synth elements for gentle guitar strums, creating a more intimate atmosphere as Swift and Malone deliver soft, intertwining vocals.

In addition to the acoustic version, Swift also released an energetic remix of “Fortnight” in collaboration with New York indie pop duo Cults. This remix infuses the song with vibrant instrumentation, offering a fresh take on the original composition.

Swift and Cults celebrated the remix’s release with an Instagram post, expressing their gratitude and excitement for the collaboration. The post read, “Honored to have been given the opportunity to remix legend @taylorswift’s song ‘Fortnight.’ Streaming everywhere now ❤️.”

“Fortnight” was originally launched on April 19 as the lead single from Taylor Swift’s surprise double album, The Tortured Poets Department. Accompanied by a black-and-white visual, the song features appearances by Post Malone and actors Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles from Dead Poets Society, portraying lovers in a dystopian romance.

Shortly after its debut, Swift shared her creative vision for the cinematic music video on Instagram, explaining, “When I conceptualized the ‘Fortnight’ music video, I aimed to visualize the worlds I envisioned while creating this music. Nearly everything within it serves as a metaphor or a nod to various aspects of the album.”

“For me, this video ended up being the ideal visual portrayal of this album and the narratives it encompasses,” Swift elaborated. “@postmalone stunned me with his portrayal of our tortured, tragic hero, and I’m immensely thankful for his dedication to this collaboration. Working with the incredibly cool @ethanhawke and @mrjoshcharles was an absolute joy—tortured poets, meet your colleagues from down the hall, the dead poets… The entire crew made filming this an absolute dream. A big thank you to everyone involved and everyone who has tuned in!”

Following a dreamy remix with DJ BLONDreleased on May 21 during Taylor Swift’s international Eras Tour, the latest rendition of “Fortnight” continues to captivate audiences. The Grammy-winning artist is presently performing in Zürich, Switzerland, with two shows scheduled for July 9 and 10. Her tour itinerary includes upcoming stops in Italy and Germany throughout the remainder of the month, followed by a performance in Poland at the beginning of August. .

During her 100th show in Liverpool, England, Taylor Swift announced to her audience that her Eras Tour would conclude later this year. Reflecting on the milestone, she shared, “The celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I’ve acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December.” She expressed gratitude to her fans, noting, “That feels so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour because you have made this so fun for us. Just know that I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you’ve put into being with us when this tour reaches triple digits of shows — so thank you.”
