Sheryl Crow Applauds Kelly Clarkson’s Kellyoke Rendition of ‘All I Wanna Do,’ Calls It ‘Better Than Mine’: ‘Good Grief!’

During a recent episode of her popular NBC talk show, Kelly Clarkson expressed her admiration, saying she’s “such a fan” of Sheryl Crow.

There’s no shortage of mutual admiration between Sheryl Crow and Kelly Clarkson.

On the April 8 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Grammy-winning American Idol alum took on Crow’s 1994 classic “All I Wanna Do” for her fan-favorite Kellyoke segment — and the performance didn’t go unnoticed.

While Clarkson stayed true to the original sound, her powerhouse vocals gave the country-pop anthem a fresh, dynamic twist that caught Crow’s ear and earned her some serious praise from the legendary singer herself.

“Good grief,” Sheryl Crow wrote in an Instagram comment. “@kellyclarkson could sing the damn phone book! I love this version better than mine!!”

After delivering her powerful rendition of “All I Wanna Do,” Kelly Clarkson took a moment to celebrate Crow and the song’s legacy. “‘All I Wanna Do’ was the breakthrough hit on her debut album, which also led Sheryl to win her first three Grammys in 1994,” she said, highlighting Crow’s wins for best female pop vocal performance, record of the year, and best new artist.

“I’m such a fan,” Clarkson added. “She’s been such a cool artist to me from the beginning.”

In an interview with PEOPLE at the 2025 Grammy Awards in February, Sheryl Crow reminisced about her career, reflecting on the significance of her first major win.

“Thirty years ago, here in Los Angeles,” she said while walking the red carpet at the Crypto.com Arena. “It was a game changer.”

The “If It Makes You Happy” singer also shared a heartwarming memory from that time. “I had my 85-year-old grandmother, who had never been in a limousine. I mean we were like country. We were like the Beverly Hillbillies, right?” said the Missouri native with a smile. “It was a big deal.”

Crow’s 2025 tour schedule includes performances across North America, starting with the Boston Calling Festival on May 23. She’ll continue her tour through October 18, wrapping up at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, Conn.
