Selena Gomez has made a swift return to social media. Just one day after the singer and actress revealed her intention to go on a social media hiatus “for a while,” she took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a collaborative cooking video with chef Gordon Ramsay.
In her Instagram Story post, Gomez, 31, wrote, “@gordongram stepped into my kitchen and showed me how to make an amazing Breakfast Burger,” alongside the accompanying clip.
In the 14-minute video, the 57-year-old Ramsay guides Selena Gomez, the star of Selena + Chef, through the process of cooking and assembling a breakfast burger, covering everything from scrambled eggs to turkey bacon and beyond.
On Tuesday, Gomez posted a video on her Instagram Story featuring her record producer boyfriend Benny Blanco sharing a playful moment with two young children. Alongside the clip, she wrote, “I’m off social [media] for a while. Focusing on what really matters.”
The former Wizards of Waverly Place star has consistently been open about taking breaks from social media. In October, she announced her intention to step back from her social platforms, citing her distress over the “horror, hate, violence, and terror” prevalent in the world.
Expressing concern about atrocities such as torture and killings, Gomez emphasized the need to protect all people, especially children, and advocated for the cessation of violence. She acknowledged the limitations of words and hashtags, expressing her desire to make a meaningful impact beyond online posts. Gomez stated, “I just can’t stand by innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t.”
Selena Gomez’s decision to take a break from social media follows her sharing a snapshot of a romantic kiss with Benny Blanco, 35, at the 2024 Golden Globes on Sunday.
The photo captured Gomez holding Blanco’s neck while adorned in the red and black Giorgio Armani dress and black jacket she wore to the awards. She captioned the sweet photo with, “I won.”
Gomez and Blanco officially confirmed their relationship in December 2023.
