Selena Gomez Hints at New Music in the Works Following Engagement to Benny Blanco

Selena Gomez is back in the studio!
On Wednesday, January 22, the 32-year-old singer and actress shared a video on her Instagram Stories, hinting that she is working on new music. In the footage, she appeared to be in a home recording studio.
The video started with Gomez facing the camera, wearing a white tank top and black headphones. She then picked up her phone to reveal her surroundings, including a desk, speakers, and a large screen on the wall.
To keep the specifics of her project a secret, Gomez covered the screen with a red heart emoji before turning the camera back to herself with a raised eyebrow and an excited expression. Soft music could also be heard in the background.
This announcement about new music comes almost a year after her last single, “Love On,” was released in February 2024, which was inspired by her time spent in Paris the year before.
The song followed her 2023 release “Single Soon” and her 2022 collaboration with Rema on “Calm Down.” The latter became a global hit, topping charts and earning several accolades, including the 2023 Billboard Music Award for Top Afrobeats Song and Best Afrobeats at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
Gomez teamed up with her now-fiancé, record producer Benny Blanco, on “Single Soon,” which was released just months before she publicly confirmed their relationship in December 2023.
A year later, the couple, who began dating in June 2023, shared their engagement news in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“Forever begins now…” she wrote in her December 11, 2024, post.
The carousel included a close-up shot of her engagement ring, along with a photo of her and Blanco, 36, embracing to celebrate their joyous news.
