“The pop sensation is gearing up to drop her upcoming album Man’s Best Friend on August 29.”
Sabrina Carpenter Isn’t Waiting Around: Why She’s Moving On from Her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ Era
Sabrina Carpenter has no interest in playing by outdated music industry timelines.
In a Rolling Stone cover story published on June 12, the 26-year-old singer opened up about why she’s choosing to move forward creatively rather than prolonging the momentum of her Short n’ Sweet album.
“I totally could’ve kept that era going way longer,” Carpenter admitted. “But right now, I’m at a place in life where I realize—there are no rules.”
The “Espresso” singer said that when inspiration strikes, she’d rather chase it than wait out an arbitrary timeline. “Why delay for three years just because that’s what people expect? I’m starting to follow my instincts more and let go of what’s considered ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’”
With her upcoming project Man’s Best Friend on the way, Carpenter shared that she’s relishing the creative freedom that comes before public feedback rolls in.
“Right now, no one’s heard it, and that’s actually the best part,” she said. “I don’t have to care about what anyone thinks yet—I’m just really, genuinely excited.”
Carpenter, known for her honest lyrics and playful energy, took fans by surprise on June 11 when she announced her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, which drops August 29, 2025.
Sharing the news via Instagram, she wrote: “My new album, Man’s Best Friend 🐾 is out on August 29, 2025. I can’t wait for it to be yours x Pre-order now.”
The post also included a striking image of the album cover, where Carpenter poses in a black mini dress and heels, as a man—cropped out of frame—grabs hold of her signature blonde hair.
