Niall Horan Shares the Song He Would Choose for a Couple’s First Dance at a Wedding

The singer also revealed that he has never performed at a wedding in an official capacity.

Niall Horan has been thinking about wedding music lately.

During his appearance on the June 11 episode of the Hey Jonas! podcast, hosted by Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas, the 32-year-old Irish singer responded to fan-submitted questions, including one about songs for wedding first dances.

One fan, a bride who chose “You Could Start a Cult” from Horan’s album The Show as her first dance track, asked which song from his own discography he would select for a wedding first dance.

Horan reacted positively to her choice, describing it as an intriguing selection. He explained that the song reflects a profound level of devotion, suggesting a love so strong that he would remain committed under any circumstances. According to Horan, while the title may initially seem unusual, the song’s message makes it fitting for a romantic occasion.

Speaking with the Jonas Brothers—Kevin in person and Joe and Nick joining remotely—Horan revealed that his personal pick would be “Black and White” from his 2020 album Heartbreak Weather.

He noted that the lyrics directly reference wedding imagery, mentioning a black suit, a white dress, and a couple walking down the aisle, which makes it especially appropriate for such a celebration. He also shared that he has heard from fans who use “This Town” as a first-dance song at their weddings.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Horan disclosed that he has never officially performed at a wedding. However, although he has not taken on the role of wedding entertainer, he expects to attend several weddings as a guest during the summer.
