Miley Cyrus takes a heartfelt look back at her earlier years in her newest music video.
On March 27, the singer-actress released “Younger You,” a fresh track featured in the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, which debuted a few days earlier on March 24. The song, with its country-inspired sound, centers on Cyrus reflecting on her younger self—offering guidance about staying grounded while navigating fame.
In the emotional chorus, she sings about drifting apart from who she once was, while expressing a desire to stay connected to that earlier version of herself. The lyrics carry a nostalgic tone, blending reflection with a sense of longing.
The accompanying video leans heavily into that nostalgia, combining present-day footage with glimpses from her past. Scenes show Cyrus driving through Hollywood, interwoven with moments from the anniversary celebration and clips from Hannah Montana: The Movie.
At one point, she even holds the iconic pink makeup case associated with her Hannah Montana days, reinforcing the connection to her past. The video closes on a reflective note, with two versions of Cyrus walking away as she questions whether she’s proud of who she has become.
Cyrus also marked the song’s release with a heartfelt Instagram message, expressing gratitude to fans. She shared that celebrating two decades of Hannah Montana has been meaningful and described the song as a gift to those who have supported her journey, adding that she will always appreciate them.
