Miley Cyrus’ Upcoming Album Marks the Beginning of a New Era
With Something Beautiful dropping this Friday, May 30, Miley Cyrus gave fans an early taste of what’s to come during an intimate gathering at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Tuesday, May 27. Hosted in collaboration with TikTok, the event was initially billed as a listening party—but guests got far more than expected.
Attendees included Tish and Brandi Cyrus, actress Anya Taylor-Joy, and other notable names. After the album playback, Miley surprised the audience with a live performance of songs such as “End of the World,” “More to Lose,” “Easy Lover,” “Flowers,” and her beloved hit “The Climb.”
As reported by Billboard, Cyrus performed alongside a talented group of musicians, including drummer and boyfriend Maxx Morando, guitarist Jonathan Rado, and pianist Michael Pollack. She shared that Something Beautiful captures “everything I’m living through” and described it as deeply personal and introspective.
Reflecting on her journey with fans, Miley remarked, “It feels like we really grew up together,” and added, “As we grow, we gain some things and let others go — but I never wanted to let go of you.”
According to Billboard, Cyrus also revealed that Something Beautiful serves as a “starter course” for what’s coming next — an album she says will be “highly experimental.” Whether that means a return to the psychedelic vibes of her 2015 project Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz or a dive into new sonic territory remains to be seen.
The day after the event, Miley expressed her gratitude on Instagram: “Last night at the Chateau Marmont was incredibly special. Every Smiler in that room was hand-selected, and hearing you sing along to brand-new, unreleased music meant everything. Thank you—last night really was Something Beautiful.”
The album’s visual companion will debut at the Tribeca Festival in New York City on June 6. At an earlier screening with Spotify on May 6 at Metrograph in NYC, Cyrus shared that she’s “excited for my younger self to really experience” the Something Beautiful era and hopes fans can feel how much love she’s poured into this new chapter.
