“This ‘Hannahversary’ is my personal way of honoring and expressing gratitude to the fans who have supported me over the past two decades,” said Miley Cyrus.
Miley Cyrus is set to revisit the world of Hannah Montana — the role that first launched her into stardom.
According to Variety, the 33-year-old performer will appear in a Hannah Montana 20th-anniversary special premiering March 24 on Disney+. Filmed before a live studio audience, the program will include an interview conducted by Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, along with previously unseen clips and recreated versions of the show’s iconic sets.
Cyrus shared that the series remains deeply meaningful to her, explaining that what began as a television project grew into a shared journey with fans that profoundly influenced her life. She added that she feels proud the show continues to resonate years later and described the “Hannahversary” as her way of honoring and thanking supporters who have stayed with her for two decades.
The Disney Channel series premiered in 2006 and ran for four seasons, with Cyrus starring as Miley Stewart, a teenager secretly living a second life as pop star Hannah Montana. The franchise later expanded with a feature film released in 2009.
The role propelled Cyrus to global fame and eventually led to her becoming the youngest person ever named a Disney Legend in 2024 — an honor recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact on the company.
In recent months, Cyrus has hinted at a reunion, noting at the 37th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in January that efforts were underway to mark the milestone. She also mentioned in a SiriusXM TikTok Radio interview that she hoped to create something memorable to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.
