Miley Cyrus Responds After Fans Criticize Her Behavior at London Signing Event
Miley Cyrus has addressed criticism following claims that she appeared dismissive during an album signing event in London on Saturday, June 21.
The 32-year-old singer made an appearance at Rough Trade East record store alongside friend and collaborator Naomi Campbell, 55, to sign exclusive vinyl copies of her unreleased album Something Beautiful.
Following the event, a video surfaced online showing Cyrus and Campbell seated at a signing table, engaged in conversation as fans approached. In the clip, one fan can be seen waiting quietly for attention. Cyrus briefly acknowledged them with a smile for a photo but quickly turned back to her conversation with Campbell, after which the fan walked away without further interaction.
The footage, which gained traction on Reddit, sparked frustration among some users. One commenter called her actions “inconsiderate and rude,” while another expressed disappointment that fans who bought the album—and possibly paid for a meet-and-greet—were met with what they saw as indifference.
On Tuesday, June 24, Cyrus appeared to respond to the backlash through a post on Instagram. She shared a carousel featuring photos and videos from the event, including moments with Campbell, and explained the nature of the gathering.
In the caption, Cyrus wrote, “Our vinyl was originally planned for release a week later, but since we were both in London, @roughtradeeast helped make it happen that day.” She went on to say the event was meant as a special gift for her fans in the UK, thanking them for their continued support over the years.
Cyrus also noted that due to the larger-than-expected turnout, the store had asked attendees not to take personal photos. She mentioned that photographer Vijat M captured the evening to ensure the moment was documented.
“To everyone who came out to celebrate our single, we love you,” she wrote in closing.
That same evening, Cyrus premiered the visual film accompanying Something Beautiful in London. Among those in attendance were her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and his partner, actress Elizabeth Hurley.
