Madison Beer shares why she declines taking pictures with fans at hotels during her tour: ‘I hope you understand.’

The Grammy-nominated singer is currently on tour in Australia.

Madison Beer is establishing some personal boundaries.

On Wednesday, August 28, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter took to social media to explain why she feels uneasy about taking photos with fans at the hotels where she stays while on tour.

“Hello, just popping on here because I’ve noticed some people are confused as to why I say no to photos, etc., at the hotels I’m staying at,” Beer shared in an Instagram Story that has since expired.

The “Make You Mine” singer went on to say, “While on tour, hotels are essentially my temporary home, and I’m entitled to some private time, just like anyone else…🤍.”

“I usually say no to pictures, etc., in my hotel because it can reveal my location to others, which unfortunately can put me in danger,” she added. “Hope you understand and can respect that! Love you.”

Beer is currently on The Encore tour, a continuation of The Spinnin Tour, which began in February. The Encore started in Singapore on August 22 and will conclude in Melbourne on September 2.

Last month, the Grammy-nominated artist released her latest single, “15 Minutes.”

The “Reckless” singer’s request for privacy during her tour follows closely on the heels of Chappell Roan making headlines for calling out some fans’ “creepy behavior” earlier this month. The “Red Wine Supernova” artist emphasized that people are not “entitled” to treat her a certain way just because of her celebrity status.

“I don’t care that abuse, harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous,” Roan, 26, said in a TikTok video shared on Monday, August 19.

“I don’t care that it’s normal,” she continued. “I don’t care that this crazy type of behavior comes with the job or the career field I’ve chosen. That does not make it OK. That doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean I want it or like it.”

In a TikTok posted on the same day, Roan shared her viewpoint by questioning whether people would behave towards an ordinary person on the street in the same way that some fans treat celebrities—through yelling, harassment, requests for photos, and even more severe actions like stalking and online attacks.

A week later, the singer of “Casual” sparked further discussion by once again urging fans to honor her personal boundaries on social media. She posted a detailed message on Instagram, stating, “After dedicating the past decade to relentlessly pursuing my project, I’ve reached a point where I must establish limits and set boundaries.”
