During Friday’s episode of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ Clarkson delighted the audience with her version of Cyrus’ hit single from ‘Endless Summer Vacation.’

Kelly Clarkson has taken on another Miley Cyrus hit!

During the Friday, June 21 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 42-year-old Grammy winner captivated her audience with a rendition of Cyrus’ “Flowers.” Kicking off the episode with her performance as part of the show’s Kellyoke segment, the American Idol alum added her own unique riffs to the 31-year-old’s Grammy-winning song, accompanied by My Band Y’all.

Clarkson passionately sang, “We were good, we were gold, Kinda dream that can’t be sold, We were right ’til we weren’t, Built a home and watched it burn, Mm, I didn’t wanna leave you, I didn’t wanna lie, Started to cry, but then remembered I,” before launching into the infectious chorus.

After concluding her rendition, she promptly turned towards her band and applauded them with enthusiasm.

Following Cyrus’ Grammy performance in February, Clarkson’s rendition on her show comes in the wake of Cyrus’ wins for best pop solo performance and record of the year, with a nomination for song of the year.

Cyrus initially performed “Flowers” live for the first time during her Grammy appearance, marking its debut televised performance. Prior to this, she had only performed the song live once before, at an intimate birthday concert at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont in November, where she sang a stripped-down version at the piano for close friends and family.

The popular song was released in January 2023, preceding the March release of her album “Endless Summer Vacation.” It swiftly became one of the standout tracks of the year, widely recognized as a powerful anthem promoting self-love.

In addition to Clarkson’s cover of “Flowers,” she has previously performed several other songs by Cyrus, such as “Edge of Midnight” and “Used to Be Young.”

During her April 19 show, Clarkson revisited her performance of the song “Used to Be Young” and humorously revealed a conversation she had with Cyrus earlier that year.

“I ran into Miley at the Grammys, and it was funny because she said, ‘You’re covering my songs a lot,'” Clarkson recounted. “I replied, ‘Well yeah, I like ’em.’ I have covered quite a few of Miley’s songs on this show, but they’re great songs. So I enjoy singing great songs.”
