With her new album . (PERIOD) set to drop on July 4, Kesha is preparing to join Scissor Sisters on the upcoming Tits Out Tour.
Kesha and Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters lit up the stage with a surprise collaboration!
On Sunday, June 1, the 38-year-old Joyride singer headlined the Mighty Hoopla festival at Brockwell Park in London, where she thrilled the crowd by bringing out 46-year-old Shears for an unexpected duet. The two performed a mashup of Kesha’s 2011 anthem “We R Who We R” and Scissor Sisters’ 2012 fan favorite “Let’s Have a Kiki.”
Wearing a “Protect the Dolls” shirt in a show of solidarity with the transgender community, Kesha invited Jake Shears onstage for a unique mashup: the duo blended lyrics from “Let’s Have a Kiki” with the beat of “We R Who We R.” They then launched into a full duet of the chart-topping Cannibal single, surrounded by members of the U.K. LGBTQ+ drag collective Sink the Pink.
The performance took place near the close of Kesha’s set, shortly after an emotional rendition of her 2017 ballad “Praying,” performed alongside the Trans Voices Choir.
The Grammy-nominated singer is set to hit the road this summer, co-headlining the Tits Out Tour with Scissor Sisters across North America. The tour kicks off on July 1 at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City and will visit major arenas and amphitheaters in cities such as Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, St. Louis, Nashville, Cincinnati, Toronto, New York City, Philadelphia, and more. The run will wrap up on August 10 at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida.
Speaking with Attitude about the upcoming shows, Kesha expressed her excitement: “I’m beyond thrilled. Whenever I’m throwing a kiki, ‘Let’s Have A Kiki’ is always on the playlist. It’s hands down one of the best party tracks ever. So every night of this tour is going to feel like a giant kiki — and I couldn’t be happier.”
She also revealed a surprise for fans in New York: “We’ve got the Vengaboys joining us at Madison Square Garden. It’s going to be a wild celebration of joy, freedom, and not giving a damn — and I’m so ready for it.”
