On Monday, Feb. 2, the singer and daytime host revealed that her show is set to end in fall 2026.
Kelly Clarkson recently put a fresh twist on a well-known Selena Gomez hit.
During the Tuesday, Feb. 3 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host took on Gomez’s 2015 single “Hands to Myself” as part of her Kellyoke segment, infusing the pop track with her own style. Clarkson, 43, began the performance with soft, breezy vocals before building into a more emotionally charged chorus.
As the “Since U Been Gone” singer leaned into the song’s high points, her live band transformed the production, giving the originally sleek track a rougher, rock-inspired feel.
After finishing the performance, Clarkson addressed the audience, noting that “Hands to Myself,” released in 2015, became Gomez’s fifth straight song to land in the top 10—proof, she joked, that the singer is doing just fine.
The performance came just a day after Clarkson shared major news about her future on television. On Monday, Feb. 2, the “Breakaway” artist announced that The Kelly Clarkson Show will conclude after seven seasons.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Clarkson reflected on her gratitude for the experience, praising the teams she worked with in both Los Angeles and New York. She described the show’s run as filled with memorable moments and expressed appreciation for the band, crew, guest talent, fans, and NBC’s continued support.
Clarkson explained that stepping away from the show was a deeply considered decision, driven by a desire to focus more fully on her family. She shared that leaving the demanding daily schedule will allow her to prioritize her children, something she feels is essential for the next stage of their lives.
The announcement follows a difficult period for the three-time Grammy winner, coming months after the death of her former husband, talent manager Brandon Blackstock, who passed away from cancer in August.
