“Nobody was hurt,” a source told PEOPLE regarding the singer, who was arrested by the Sag Harbor Police Department on Tuesday, June 18.

Justin Timberlake has been arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated in Long Island, New York.

According to a representative from the Sag Harbor Police Department, Timberlake was in police custody as of the morning of June 18, PEOPLE reported.

PEOPLE has contacted Timberlake’s representative for comment.

A source revealed that the 43-year-old musician, known for the hit “Selfish,” was arrested for DWI after having dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. He was stopped by police after leaving the restaurant to drive to a friend’s house.

“Nobody was hurt,” the source stated. “He will be arraigned in about an hour.”

PEOPLE confirmed that Timberlake will face one count of DWI and two citations—one for running a stop sign and another for failing to stay in his lane.

Police released a statement regarding Justin R. Timberlake’s arrest:

“On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.

Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment. He was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM where he was released on his own recognizance.”

Following his arraignment, Timberlake is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on July 26.

Justin Timberlake is currently on tour supporting his latest album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” released on March 15. Prior to its release, the “Sanctified” singer previewed tracks from the album on shows like Saturday Night Live and NPR’s Tiny Desk.

His “Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” his first in five years, is set to continue with upcoming shows at Chicago’s United Center on June 21 and 22, followed by performances at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on June 25 and 26. Timberlake recently took a brief break in New York after performing in Miami on June 15.

The tour will proceed across the U.S. until July 9, after which Timberlake will embark on a comprehensive European tour lasting through the summer and fall. He plans to return to North America starting October 7 at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York, with all tour dates scheduled to conclude by December 20.

On Sunday, Justin Timberlake marked Father’s Day with a heartfelt Instagram tribute to his sons, Silas, 9, and Phineas, 3½, whom he shares with his wife Jessica Biel.

Describing them as his “2 greatest gifts,” Timberlake expressed gratitude to his sons, acknowledging them for giving him his greatest purpose in life.

“I learn more about myself every day just because you both chose me to be your Daddy,” Timberlake wrote. “I will always be there for you through your peaks and valleys, to lift you up and show you how high you can take this life, and to pick you up when you fall. And, of course, to flood you with insufferable Dad-jokes all along the way.”

“I love you both so much,” he concluded.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are currently navigating time apart as Timberlake tours for his latest album. Biel, 42, spoke about their marriage dynamics during a May 16 appearance on The View, emphasizing that maintaining their relationship is an ongoing effort.

“It’s always a work in progress,” Biel shared. “It’s constantly trying to find the balance, trying to find the time when we can connect.”

Acknowledging the challenges of being apart, especially with Timberlake’s busy schedule, Biel highlighted the role of technology in staying connected. “Thank goodness for Zoom and FaceTime,” she noted. “For traveling families — well, for everybody, really — but for parents who are gone a lot, that’s been really helpful.”

Despite the physical distance, Biel emphasized the importance of making time for each other and finding ways to strengthen their bond while managing their respective commitments.
