Justin Bieber Embraces Iceland’s Scenery, Snowboards, and Records Music in New “First Place” Video

By Website Content Manager

“First Place” is featured on Bieber’s newest album, Swag.

Justin Bieber is soaking up the natural beauty of Iceland.

The 31-year-old pop icon dropped the music video for “First Place,” a track from his Swag album, on Thursday, Aug. 14. The minimalist visual showcases Bieber exploring Iceland’s landscapes, snowboarding, and giving fans a behind-the-scenes peek at his time in the studio.

Shot entirely in black and white, the video begins with Bieber grabbing a snack as he steps out of a building marked Samvinnufélag Fljótamanna before strolling along the waterfront.

The video then shows Bieber smoking as he records “First Place” inside a house alongside his collaborators, later relaxing by the fireplace and conversing with friends.

Other moments highlight him unwinding in an outdoor hot tub before braving a cold plunge, and taking a helicopter ride to the top of a mountain, where he snowboards down with his crew.

The visual closes with Bieber riding a bike through the mountains and walking away from the microphone in the studio, as though the track has just been completed. On Instagram, where he promoted the release, Bieber jokingly captioned the post with a disclaimer: “FORGIVE MY CHICKEN LEGS.”

Lyrically, “First Place” finds the singer—who is married to Hailey Bieber—reflecting on the ups and downs of love, ultimately celebrating a relationship that always ends on a high note.

The track is featured on Bieber’s most recent album, Swag, which dropped in July 2025 and has already produced two Billboard Hot 100 top-10 singles: “Daisies” and “Yukon.”

Earlier in the week, the pop star also shared a heartfelt post about his faith on Instagram, writing: “grateful for a new day.”

“Grateful for Jesus,” he went on to write, explaining that each morning he feels met with forgiveness and love he feels unworthy of.

The Holy singer added that he’s thankful for how freely and generously that love is given, noting that he couldn’t make it through the day without it—especially during his lowest moments.
