“Hidden Gems and Surprises from Lady Gaga’s Coachella 2025 Headlining Performance”

Gaga delivered a mix of iconic hits from throughout her career alongside tracks from her newest album, Mayhem.

Lady Gaga Lights Up Coachella 2025 with Surprise-Filled Performance

Lady Gaga’s loyal fanbase, affectionately known as her “Little Monsters,” made their presence known at this year’s Coachella.

On Friday, April 11, the 39-year-old pop icon delivered a nearly two-hour-long, high-energy set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. She kicked off the night with “Bloody Mary,” a track from her 2011 Born This Way album.

The set continued with a powerful lineup of fan favorites, including “Abracadabra,” “Judas,” and the crowd-pleasing “Poker Face.”

Throughout the 20-song performance, Gaga weaved in clever nods to her past work. While singing her 2009 single “Paparazzi,” she appeared in metallic armor—a visual callback to the song’s iconic music video.

Later, she performed “Disease,” a track from her 2025 studio release Mayhem. During the song, she lay beside a skeleton, echoing a haunting scene from the “Bad Romance” video. A white crown from that same visual era reappeared during a chess-themed dance sequence near the show’s end.

One fan summed up the moment on X, posting side-by-side photos of Gaga’s Coachella act and her original “Bad Romance” look, writing: “Some things just don’t change #GAGACHELLA.”

This performance marked Gaga’s return to the festival for the first time since she famously filled in for a pregnant Beyoncé back in 2017.

After the 2025 lineup was announced in November 2024, Gaga shared her excitement on Instagram.

“I’ve always dreamed of unleashing total chaos in the desert,” she wrote. “There was a vision I never got to bring to life at Coachella, but now I finally can. I want to give the fans the experience they deserve.”

She added, “This time, I’m kicking off the weekend as a headliner — and I’m ready to hear everyone singing and dancing all night long.”

In the days leading up to the event, Gaga told Rolling Stone she was especially looking forward to performing “Killah,” her collaboration with Gesaffelstein featured on Mayhem.

“That one’s really meaningful to me,” she said. “I’m amazed by the work he did on the track, and we had such a blast creating it. The bridge just explodes — it’s going to be wild at Coachella.”

Following her appearances across both Coachella weekends — also headlined by Post Malone, Travis Scott, and Green Day — Gaga will head to Brazil for a free concert, followed by shows in Singapore and her upcoming Mayhem Ball tour.

Gaga dropped her seventh studio album, Mayhem, on March 7. The 14-track project includes earlier releases like “Disease” and “Abracadabra,” along with “Die with a Smile,” her Grammy-winning collaboration with Bruno Mars.

In a press statement, Gaga described Mayhem as a fresh yet familiar chapter in her career. “This album began with me confronting my fear of revisiting the pop sound that first connected me with my fans,” she explained.
