Halsey Teams Up with Evanescence’s Amy Lee on New Single ‘Hand That Feeds’

By Website Content Manager

The track is set to be featured on the From the World of John Wick: Ballerina soundtrack, which will be released alongside the film on June 6.

Amy Lee and Halsey have long admired each other’s music, and now they’re bringing that mutual appreciation to life through a new collaboration.

The Evanescence frontwoman, 43, and the “You Should Be Sad” artist, 30, have officially joined forces for the track “Hand That Feeds,” which dropped on Friday, May 9.

The emotionally charged ballad appears on the From the World of John Wick: Ballerina soundtrack and showcases the duo blending their vocals, with Lee delivering her iconic powerhouse belts. The release comes just days before Evanescence will appear as a special guest during Halsey’s performance at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday, May 14.

Announcing the collaboration on X, Lee wrote, “So excited to share ‘Hand That Feeds’ with @halsey THIS FRIDAY. We’ve been fans of each other’s work for a long time, and it truly feels like the universe brought us together for this.”

She added, “We already had the Hollywood Bowl show on the calendar when @Lionsgate invited us to create a song for the @ballerinamovie soundtrack, and now it’s finally time to release it! Can’t wait for everyone to hear it!! 🖤”

Halsey shared a nostalgic Polaroid of herself with Amy Lee on Instagram, expressing how deeply influential the Evanescence frontwoman has been to her. “I’ve been listening to @amylee since I was 11,” Halsey wrote. “She and Evanescence opened a space where my emotions felt valid. Their music became my refuge when the world outside felt unbearable. I honestly wouldn’t be the artist I am today without them. Getting to collaborate with her on ‘HAND THAT FEEDS’ is one of the most surreal and unforgettable moments of my life. I’ll hold onto this forever.”

The track arrives ahead of Ballerina, the spinoff of the John Wick franchise starring Ana de Armas, which premieres in June. It also precedes the launch of Halsey’s For My Last Trick tour, kicking off May 10 at the Toyota Pavilion at Concord, California.

The 32-date North American tour will see Halsey make stops in cities including Phoenix, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and St. Louis, before wrapping up on July 6 at the Yaamava’ Theater in Highland, California.

The tour will feature a lineup of special guests on select dates, including Del Water Gap, The Warning, Alvvays, Hope Tala, Sir Chloe, Royel Otis, Flowerovlove, Magdalena Bay, and Alemeda. Back in February, Halsey teased details of the tour during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, mentioning her love for staging dramatic live shows.

“I think people are always a bit surprised when they see me perform live, especially if they only know the radio hits,” she said. “The concerts can get pretty intense. I turn into a little demon on stage… It’s like an exorcism every time.”

Halsey’s most recent album, The Great Impersonator, dropped in October, while Evanescence released their latest full-length project, The Bitter Truth, in 2021.
