Former couple John Mayer and Katy Perry were spotted reconnecting at Sabrina Carpenter’s L.A. concert, nearly a decade after their breakup.

John Mayer and Katy Perry had an on-again, off-again relationship from 2012 to 2015, during which they teamed up for the duet “Who You Love.”

John Mayer and Katy Perry appear to be on friendly terms.

Nearly a decade after their on-again, off-again romance came to an end, the two artists were seen catching up at Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet Tour stop at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Nov. 17.

A video shared by DeuxMoi on Instagram shows Perry, 40, glancing back at Mayer, 47, who was seated in the row behind her, listening intently as he spoke animatedly.

For the event, Perry donned a chic short blue dress paired with black boots and a fur-trimmed coat, while Mayer kept it casual in a black jacket and gray pants. The pair were photographed separately outside the venue.

John Mayer and Katy Perry had an on-again, off-again relationship from 2013 to 2015. During that time, they collaborated on the song “Who You Love” from Mayer’s Paradise Valley album, and Mayer also played guitar on “It Takes Two” from Perry’s Prism album.

In 2022, Perry reflected on Mayer during her time as a judge on American Idol. When contestant Noah Thompson performed Mayer’s 2009 hit “Heartbreak Warfare,” Perry humorously reacted, saying, “Noah…I feel like maybe you should Wikipedia me. You did great, but I can’t talk anymore. I’m triggered!”

Katy Perry is now engaged to actor Orlando Bloom, and together they have a daughter, Daisy Dove, who was born in August 2020. The couple began dating in 2016, briefly split in 2017, and rekindled their relationship less than a year later before getting engaged in 2019.

Meanwhile, in January, John Mayer, who has previously been romantically linked to stars like Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, and Taylor Swift, shared his thoughts on marriage during an appearance on Kelly Rizzo’s Comfort Food podcast. Mayer expressed, “People don’t think I want to be married. I absolutely want to be married. You know the secret, which is that I’m actually fairly well-adjusted. And I so badly want to get married if only for my wife to just know in her heart, like, ‘John will know what to do.'”
