“Fans Slam Justin Timberlake’s Romania Show, Claiming He Delivered a Lackluster Performance”

“It’s like buying concert tickets and ending up with a silent performer,” a fan commented on a TikTok video of his set at the Electric Castle festival.

Justin Timberlake Faces Backlash for Minimal Singing During Romanian Festival Appearance

Justin Timberlake is facing criticism online after a recent live show left some fans underwhelmed.

A TikTok clip from his performance at Romania’s Electric Castle festival has gained attention, showing the 44-year-old Trolls star performing “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”—but only singing portions of the song live. The video shows Timberlake pulling up his hood as rain falls, singing the opening lines before prompting the crowd with “Say what?” and encouraging them to sing the rest. While walking the stage and gesturing rhythmically, he occasionally chimed in with a few lyrics and danced casually.

Toward the chorus, Timberlake turns to his band and again directs the audience to “sing, c’mon,” relying heavily on crowd participation throughout.

A fan overlaid the TikTok video with the caption: “When you pay for a concert but get a mute singer,” and added in the description, “Dude took a day off on stage…”

The post quickly drew support from other viewers who echoed the sentiment. One joked, “So y’all just went to karaoke?” while another quipped that the performance was “Justin Timberlake featuring the audience.” A top-liked comment with over 32,000 likes read, “I want a refund and I didn’t even go.”

Another user criticized Timberlake’s apparent lack of enthusiasm, saying he “doesn’t even care.” In response, fans began posting parody videos recreating the performance—wearing jackets and sunglasses similar to Timberlake’s stage outfit. One TikTok caption read: “Paid to see the Trolls guy perform, ended up doing all the work.”

As of now, Timberlake’s team has not issued a response to the online criticism.
