Maroon 5’s seventh studio album, Jordi, was released on June 11, 2021. The album serves as a tribute to the band’s late manager, Jordan “Jordi” Feldstein, who passed away in 2017.
Adam Levine is finally giving Maroon 5 fans some good news after their wait for new music.
During his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on April 7, Levine confirmed the rumors that the band is planning new music. When asked by Fallon about the band’s plans for the year, the 46-year-old singer responded, “The rumors are correct. There are details. I cannot divulge all the details.”
However, he did tease a single coming “at the end of the month-ish,” leaving fans eagerly awaiting more updates.
“I’m really excited about it,” Adam Levine shared, teasing Maroon 5’s upcoming plans. The 46-year-old singer confirmed that a new album is set for release this summer, though he kept the exact timing vague, mentioning it would come “non-specifically around the summertime.” He also hinted at a tour coming in the fall, adding to the excitement with the same sense of mystery, calling it “fall-ish.”
The forthcoming album will follow their 2021 release, Jordi, as well as previous albums Red Pill Blues (2014), Overexposed (2012), Hands All Over (2010), It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (2007), and Songs About Jane (2002).
Last year, Maroon 5 went on a brief East Coast tour and also performed a series of shows for their Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM. The residency, which started in March 2023, concluded in October.
Since then, Adam Levine has been busy with his return as a coach on The Voice for season 27. Speaking with PEOPLE ahead of the season premiere, Levine explained why he decided to return to the show after taking a break in season 16. “I honestly feel like the stars aligned,” he shared. “It was one of those moments where we started talking about it and it felt right… and it hadn’t felt right until now.”
Levine also mentioned that he needed a “break” from being on TV, describing the experience as both “interesting and beautiful.” Reflecting on his long tenure as a coach, he explained, “Doing it for so long, so consistently, for almost eight or nine years of my life, you can definitely start to get burnt out.”
