Petal is scheduled for release more than two years after Ariana Grande dropped her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine.

Ariana Grande is entering a fresh chapter in her career.

The 32-year-old pop artist unveiled her eighth studio album, Petal, on April 28, revealing both its cover art and official release date ahead of her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour, which begins in June.

The album is set to drop on July 31 through Republic Records. Its cover features a black-and-white close-up of the Grammy-winning singer smiling, with strands of her hair partially covering her face.

In a statement, Grande explained that the title Petal symbolizes growth and resilience, describing it as something alive that continues to thrive even in difficult or unwelcoming conditions.

Earlier in April, she sparked excitement among fans after posting a series of photos on Instagram showing her working in the studio. The images captured her in different moments, including standing by a mixing console, recording with a microphone, and reviewing audio tracks on a computer.

The final photo showed her seated with her arms raised in celebration. Among the images, she also included a picture of delicate flowers, which led fans to speculate about a possible connection to the album’s theme.

Petal follows her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, released in March 2024, along with a deluxe edition that came out a year later.

Grande is set to kick off her new tour on June 6, marking her first since the Sweetener World Tour.

In a previous interview with Interview Magazine in November, Grande shared that working on Eternal Sunshine and her role in Wicked helped her reconnect with parts of herself and improve how she handles fame. She explained that she has been gradually rebuilding her relationship with music and touring, noting that acting—particularly her role as Glinda—gave her the strength to move forward and let go of past emotional challenges.
