Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are currently traveling across the globe together as part of Mars’ “The Romantic Tour,” with performances scheduled through the end of the year.
Anderson .Paak says he is fully enjoying life on the road while touring the world with close friend and collaborator Bruno Mars.
The 40-year-old performer, who forms one half of the Grammy-winning duo Silk Sonic alongside Mars, is joining “The Romantic Tour,” which runs from April through October. The global tour marks Mars’ first major international concert series in nearly ten years, with scheduled performances in cities including Houston, Nashville, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, and Amsterdam.
During the shows, .Paak appears both as his DJ persona, DJ Pee .Wee, and as part of Silk Sonic, performing hit songs such as “Leave the Door Open” and “Smokin’ Out the Window.” Their breakout single “Leave the Door Open” earned the duo the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 2022.
Describing the experience, .Paak called the tour a “luxury” compared to previous tours he has done, praising the large stadium venues, comfortable accommodations, excellent catering, and energetic crowds. He said performing alongside Mars feels effortless and exciting.
The musician added that audiences are in for a memorable experience, especially fans who never had the chance to attend Silk Sonic’s 2022 Las Vegas residency, An Evening with Silk Sonic. According to .Paak, stepping back onstage with Mars feels natural, as if no time has passed since their last performances together. He explained that their chemistry and connection create a unique energy whenever they share the stage.
Outside of music, .Paak also opened up about the challenges of balancing his career with family life. The father of two sons, Soul and Shine, acknowledged that constant travel can make parenting difficult. He credited his ex-wife, Jaylyn Chang, along with his extended family, for helping provide stability and support for their children while he is away.
He emphasized that meaningful parenting is not only about the amount of time spent together, but also about making those moments count.
Recently, .Paak made his directorial debut with the film K-Pops!, in which he stars alongside his son Soul. He described the project as especially rewarding because it allowed them to spend quality time together while strengthening their bond. Watching his son work hard on set and grow through the experience became one of his favorite parts of making the film.
