During her Atlanta performance on Monday, while singing ‘Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)’, Beyoncé exclaimed through her microphone, ‘Lizzo! My feelings for you, Lizzo, are profound!’

Expressing her solidarity, Beyoncé is standing by Lizzo. Following a recent lawsuit brought forth by three former dancers of Lizzo, accusing them of weight-based discrimination, racial insensitivity, and sexual harassment, Beyoncé, aged 41, seized the opportunity to acknowledge the 35-year-old “2 Be Loved” artist during her live performance in Atlanta on Monday.
Amidst her rendition of “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix),” Beyoncé enthusiastically exclaimed into the microphone, “Lizzo! My feelings are directed towards you, Lizzo!” This moment was captured in a viral video clip that swiftly circulated on social media platforms.
Throughout her Renaissance World Tour, Beyoncé has been consistently mentioning the names of various iconic musicians within the song. Notably, during the Boston show on August 8, she conspicuously excluded the controversial rapper’s name from the list.
In the third verse of the remix, Beyoncé’s lyrics include the line: “Betty Davis, Solange Knowles; Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl.”
However, as observed in videos recorded by fans during the performance at Gillette Stadium, Beyoncé seemed to modify the line to: “Betty Davis, Solange Knowles; Badu, Badu, Badu, Badu.”
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, swiftly addressed the online discussions, suggesting that the situation was merely coincidental. In response to a post from The Jasmine Brand, Knowles commented, “She also didn’t say her own sister’s name y’all should really stop.”
In the lawsuit filed against Lizzo on August 8th, her ex-dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez claimed that they were coerced by Lizzo into interacting with unclothed performers while at a nightclub in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Additionally, the lawsuit asserts that the dancers were subjected to body-shaming.
The legal complaint also implicates Lizzo’s dance captain, Shirlene Quigley, accusing her of divulging personal details about her own sexual habits and fantasies, and stigmatizing individuals who participated in sexual activities before marriage.
On August 10, Lizzo took to social media to release an extensive statement, asserting that she was not assuming the role of a wrongdoer and highlighting that the accusations aimed at her were so extreme that she could not ignore them.
Commencing her Instagram post, she wrote, “The past few days have been incredibly challenging and profoundly disheartening. My commitment to my work, my principles, and my courtesy have all been brought into doubt. My integrity has been scrutinized. Typically, I opt not to react to baseless accusations, but these allegations are so implausible that I feel compelled to address them.”
