I was born and raised in Portales NM then moved to the Seattle area with my husband. After having a couple of kiddos, we decided to return to New Mexico to raise them with our families. I returned to college to complete a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Production from Eastern New Mexico University. While working on that degree I harassed my way onto the morning show with Rooney and Moon, and ten years later no one has been able to figure out how to get rid of me!

I live south of Portales in the middle of nowhere (very different from Seattle!). My family loves the privacy and beauty of the New Mexico desert we call home. We have traveled all over NM showing our kids the history and reason it is called the Land of Enchantment. Sometimes it takes leaving where you are from and coming back to really appreciate it.

As little girls my friend and I would record our own little radio shows, and I never expected to be really doing radio as a job! My favorite thing in the world is making people laugh (I hope you are all laughing as you listen!). Radio allows for entertainment, but also, for immediate access to important information, and that has never been as important as it is now. I hope to give you a place to go to laugh, but also a place to go where you trust you are being told the truth. If you see me around say hi; I love getting to know who I’m talking to every day!

If you were a cartoon, which one would you be and why?
I’m going to have to throw it back to a Care Bear!

What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?
Goldfish . . .

What do you do to have fun?
Depends on the bank account and the day. Sometimes it’s just hanging with the family and watching a movie, other times it’s having some drinks and sitting on a boat (preferably on water), and every Saturday I meet wi th a group of likeminded nerds and talk books and movies!

Have you been told you look like someone famous? If so, who?
Yes, the chick on X-files and Claire Danes.

If you were to name one piece of clothing that describes you, what would it be?
I’m tempted to say sweatpants, but probably more of a 16th century ballgown – really complicated with lots of unnecessary layers lol.

If you woke up tomorrow as a superhero, what would your superhero name be? What would be your superpower?
What is it called where you can be in another place instantly? That would be my power. And probably just stick with Amber, no one needs to know I have powers!

What’s one thing you do that other people find odd or silly?
So many . . .

What’s the funniest pick-up line you’ve ever heard?
Are pick up lines still a thing? It’s been a verrrrry long time since I was single! Don’t people just swipe right now?

How I Got Rich Writing a Book

Tell us something you hate doing. Why?
Not too much just cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, taking pictures of myself, speaking in front of a crowd, riding fair rides, public bathroom usage, going outside in the cold, staying in hotels, etc.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When people drive in the left lane and don’t let you pass!

What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
ME TIME

As a child, what did you wish to become when you grew up?
Not even kidding, but I wanted to be a figure skater. I have ice skated a total of one time in my life.

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Money so I could have an unlimited supply of whatever. Or love, I should have said love huh?
